2012 EANT Conference – Accommodations and things to do
— By Theresa Gale, 2012 Planning Circle Member, and Certified Teacher in the Narrative Tradition
This year's EANT Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Reston Hotel located in the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA. Only 15 minutes from Dulles Airport and 25 minutes from downtown Washington, DC, it's an ideal location for our gathering.
The Reston Town Center was envisioned by Robert E. Simon, Jr. (who turned 99 in April) in 1964, and became a reality in the late 1990s. Dubbed "A Downtown for the 21st Century," this acclaimed outdoor venue offers more than 50 retail shops, 30 restaurants, a 13-screen Multiplex Cinema and the Hyatt Regency Reston Hotel. And at the Center's hub, the Pavilion hosts special events, concerts, festivals throughout the year and ice-skating in winter, making this the focal point of the community and Northern Virginia's "downtown."
The Hyatt Regency Reston Hotel is elegant and offers wonderful accommodations. Bring your exercise gear if you want to get in some cardio but bring some comfortable walking shoes as there are walking paths and parks to explore as well. Grab a cup of coffee in the lobby of the hotel in the Panera Bread Restaurant and then sit in the open, airy lobby that proves to be great "sightseeing." Meeting rooms are spacious and as usual we'll fill them with wonderful experiences, energy, laughter and fun.
Come in a day early or stay a day after the conference and take in some sightseeing in Washington, DC. If you've never been to DC, you can arrange for transportation or arrange walking and bus tours with the hotel's concierge desk. Call your Senator or Congressional Representative and get a guided tour of the Capital or the White House. Take in a show at the Kennedy Center or National Theatre or spend a day on the Mall visiting the Smithsonian and Museums.
So are you coming? Help make this year's conference an even to remember! Join us October 18 - 21, 2012 and come prepared to explore and experience your JOY RISING.
The first conference early-bird deadline is coming up, Friday June 22. To register, click here and register via our new, online conference registration page.
